The A3000 was officially shown to Amiga developers in Paris, France this
week. Many of the rumors flying about from 68040's to just-another-A2000-ca rd
are now to be put to rest.
I have a little tale to tell...
It *is* a 68030 running at either 16MHz or 25MHz. And it *is* on the
motherboard and not a card.
It is desktop contrary to rumors of a tower configuration with a tower being
in the near future.
The A3000 has a more petite case than the A2000 and according to my friend is
a vast improvement over the A2000 in styling.
As of now, it will be bundled with a 50Mb hard drive, unknown whether it is
SCSI.
The motherboard bus is 32-bits for both memory AND I/O!!! The bus is
backwards compatible with the A2000 and the CPU runs asynchronously with the
bus unlike the A2630.
Now here's the BIG news:
Chip RAM is now <Gasp!> TWO Megabytes!
The A3000 comes with it's own FLICKER-FIXER!
Resolution of the graphics is defined by the Extended Chip Set so the
